Past Actions

  • This weekend TUSC Brent supporters were out petitioning outside Sainsbury in Willesden high road to make brent residents aware of the scandale unveiled by Channel 4 Dispatches. The programme reveals the councillor who lives 70 miles from his constituents but whose party still claims an allowance. This councillor is Cllr Revd David Clues, a LibDem councillor for Dudden Hill Ward in Brent currently living in Brighton. During the week, TUSC supporters also knocked on doors in Dudden Hill ward with a petition demanding that Cllr Davies Clues resign from his position. Few residents were outrage about this councillor still holding his position while not providing regular surgeries for local constituents.
  • The Counihan-Sanchez Housing Campaign and Southwark Save our Services are lobbying City Hall on Friday 22nd Feb at 1pm to highlight the case of the Counihan-Sanchez Family who were made homeless by Brent Council after they declared £18 weekly income.The lobby is calling on Boris and the GLA to:Build more affordable homes using GLA funds.Lobby the Government not to implement the Bedroom Tax on 1st April which will make hundreds of vulnerable Londoners homeless.Request that London Local Authorities like Brent and Southwark build more genuinely affordable homes and that they should not send families out of London.Location of protest: Mayor of London’s office,City Hall The Queen's Walk,London SE1 2AAHere is a video from a previous demonstration in Brent last year
